About
The Belize Academy of Diving was formed by two couples who met and became
friends through diving. During our years of diving all over the world, and
running dive operations in the far east, we realized how poor the levels of
service in the dive industry generally were. So when creating the Belize Academy
of Diving, we decided to make good service fundamental to our operation. We want
you to take away memories of the great times you had, the good friends you made,
and of course the truly world class diving experiences you shared.
Dive Crew
Craig and Tracey are both experienced PADI instructors who, along with our
Belizean staff, Jorge, Amy and Giovanni, are waiting to welcome you to our dive center and ensure that you enjoy your time with us.
Rosemary (PADI divemaster) and Paul (PADI master scuba diver) provide support from the UK. Contact them, if you have any comments about the website.
Paul is also an experienced underwater photographer. You can see a selection of his stunning underwater photographs from around the world in his online photo albums or on the walls of our dive center.
Dive Boats
Our dive boats are all equipped with life-jackets, radio, comprehensive first-aid kit and oxygen with staff trained to administer it.
Our pride and joy is the 38' Bad Girl. She was purpose built for us in Belize and will handle up to 14 divers with ease.
The 28' Bad Attitude is our latest addition. She is great for dive trips to the local barrier reef.
The 25' Bad Manners is perfect for snorkeling trips and small groups of divers in training.
Dive Kit
A full range of high quality,
well maintained, Scubapro
and other rental equipment is available, including Uwatec dive
computers and MX5 and MX10 underwater cameras.
Tanks and weights are included in our prices for all dive trips. Let us know if you need a smaller or larger tank than usual. Nitrox tanks are available at extra cost.
Recompression Chamber
San Pedro has the only recompression chamber
in Belize. It is located
right by the airstrip and its emergency service is available 24
hours, everyday.
We are proud to be a sponsor of the chamber. Our monthly contribution helps it to stay fully operational 24/7, 365 days a year. As an access member, our divers benefit from direct access to chamber services at anytime and if uninsured, are only charged a nominal cost recovery fee. However, we highly recommend that you have your own insurance to cover the cost of this and other eventualities.
